On a whim tonight I headed out around 10:00pm to the shore in Santa Barbara along with my camera, wide and telephoto lenses, tripod and cable release. I parked along the road near the pier and headed out onto the beach with the gear. There’s a lot fewer people at night, but not zero. I shot several with the 70-200 of the pier, of the various lit things out on the water (oil rigs, boats, etc), and a couple of the moon. Then I trekked back to the car to switch lenses because I dind’t have a good place to set things down while changing lenses. Back with the wide angle, several more long exposures, a little fooling around with high ISO settings handheld, and then back to the car. It was pretty fun — now I’m going to look at the photos.
