Singleshot

Singleshot, web photo album hosting software, is finally released. It features low maintenance, relatively simple installation, and fast and easy album publishing once it’s set up. It runs on the web server though the URL space it defines could be served statically. It requires Apache, Python 2.1 or later, ImageMagick, and for the optional edit mode it requires libjpeg’s command line tools. Your albums are stored in a hierarchy of directories and jpegs with some optional config files for metadata.

Singleshot automatically serves album and image level HTML pages generated from a template. It generates and caches alternate image sizes automatically based on the needs of the templates (e.g. the album page shows thumbnails). EXIF metadata and JPEG comments are made available to the templates for display. The shipping templates will show the camera and capture date as well as using the JPEG comment for the caption.
